Physiotherapists

Julie McGivery
Physiotherapist / Owner

Julie attended UNB where she completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Psychology. She then graduated from Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University in 2005. Julie is a highly-regarded Physiotherapist in the community and in Atlantic Canada. Julie is the founder of Advanced Health & Physiotherapy & has a passion for helping people understand and overcome their injuries. Julie is currently the President of the College of Physiotherapy Regulators of New Brunswick. Julie continues to advance her knowledge and skills through participation in numerous postgraduate courses in advanced orthopaedic assessment and treatments. Julie completed her Clinical Masters’ in Advanced Orthopaedics & Manual Therapy at Western University in 2013. She became McKenzie certified in 2022. She volunteers with many community sporting events and teams yearly. Her on-field sports experience includes working as the team therapist for the Moncton Mustangs’ Junior & Senior Football programs, Bernice MacNaughton Basketball & Football Programs and many local/national/ international sporting events such as 2010 World Junior Track & Field. Julie’s passions are not limited to physiotherapy. She can often be found training for triathlons, marathons, skiing, & yoga. Julie has also completed the 2013 IRONMAN at Mont-Tremblant, Que and the 2017 Boston Marathon.

Jordan Gillis
Physiotherapist

Jordan is an experienced physiotherapist who takes an individualized approach to rehabilitation. He listens intently to clients’ needs and concerns and addresses them appropriately with an actionable and concise treatment plan. His approach to therapy is grounded in specific exercise prescription, education, and manual therapy. His interests outside of physiotherapy include spending time with his family, basketball, Olympic weightlifting, jump training, CrossFit, and playing music.

Jordan graduated from the University of New Brunswick with a degree in Kinesiology in 2012, and immediately attended Dalhousie University to obtain a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy in 2014. Since graduating he has had experience in both the hospital and private practice settings. In 2019, he received a Diploma of Advanced Orthopedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy and is now an FCAMPT. In 2021, he passed the credentialing exam for the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment. He loves to keep up to date on research, especially with regards to management of low back injuries. He has experience with working with all types of issues ranging from sports injuries, work-related injuries, motor vehicle accidents, and general aches and pains.

Madison Ames
Physiotherapist

Madison graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. She continued by obtaining her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2022.
Throughout the course of her education, Madison wore several different hats which included being a 2nd grade teacher, a volunteer for the Heart for Life Program based out of Nova Scotia, a Certified Personal Trainer, as well as various positions in the hospital.

With a commitment to life-long learning, Madison continues to stay up to date with the latest research and best practices. She enjoys working with all ages and conditions, from kids to athletes to older adults.
Outside of Physiotherapy, you can often find Madison on a volleyball court or in a gym. She loves to travel to different countries and explore the outdoors.

Heather Wasson
Physiotherapist

Heather has been part of the Advanced Health & Physiotherapy team since 2011. The Moncton native graduated from Crandall University in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science, Honours in Biology. She then obtained her Masters of Science in Physiotherapy from Dalhousie University in 2018. Since graduating Heather has completed numerous post graduate courses, including Dry Needling levels 1 and 2 through Acupuncture Canada.
Heather is a former ACAA athlete and current Sports First Responder. On-field sports experiences include working as the physiotherapist/first responder for high school and university levels, as well as volunteering for the FIFA Women’s world cup. Heather has worked with various populations and has a passion to help improve pain, enhance movement, and restore strength and function. She believes in taking a client-centered approach to develop individualized treatment plans. Apart from physiotherapy you can find Heather being active outside with her dogs or catching a sunset.

Jen Williston
Physiotherapist Assistant / Personal Trainer

Jen joined our team as Physiotherapy Assistant in 2019. She’s been a Certified Personal Trainer since 2003 and also hold certifications in Biomechanics, Sport Conditioning, and Cancer Exercise.
Jen looks after our Work Conditioning Program and is a Physiotherapy/Clinic Assistant in the clinic and gym with many of our clients. She is a Sport First Responder and enjoys volunteering with the Bernice McNaughton football team.
Jen is a wife, mom and cat mom. She loves trail running and leads a women’s trail running group as part of Moncton Trail Running.

Massage Therapists

Crystal London BA, RMT
Massage Therapist

Crystal is a Registered Massage Therapist with expertise in myofascial release techniques. In 13+ years in the field, Crystal has worked many conditions including motor vehicle accidents, workplace injuries, sport injuries, soft tissue injuries and scar tissue remodeling. She has focused experience treating temporomandibular disorders but is dedicated to improving the wellness of all her clients. Crystal holds a BA from Mount Allison and a massage therapy diploma, with honours from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage (2011).

Natacha Carver
Registered Massage Therapist

Born and raised in Moncton, Natacha graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, from l’Université de Moncton in 2013. Following this, she obtained her degree in Massage Therapy, with honors, from the Atlantic College of Therapeutic Massage (Dieppe), in 2015.

Working as a RMT since 2015, she continues to grow her knowledge and experience, keeping up to date on the latest techniques and treatment options massage therapy has to offer. Over the years, she has completed courses in Kinesio-taping, concussion rehab, pregnancy massage, cupping therapy and scar tissue therapy. This allows her to treat a wide range of acute or chronic pain, conditions and injuries; tailoring each treatment specifically to her client’s needs.

In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, reading, baking and spending time with her kids.

Jennifer Martin
Office Manager

Jennifer first began her love and passion for the medical field when she graduated from Kine Concept Institute in Fredericton receiving her certificate to practice massage therapy in New Brunswick in 2002. She practiced as an RMT for 10 years, 8 of which were throughout the Caribbean. She then decided to go a different route and graduated from NBCC from the Medical Office Administrator course with honours in 2013. She worked for a family physician for a year covering a maternity leave before accepting the position with Advanced Health and Physiotherapy in Feb of 2015 as Office Manager. Outside of work Jennifer enjoys hiking, camping, and spending time with her family and little girl Willow.

Jennifer is the smiling face that keeps the office running smoothly and can help you with all questions related to scheduling, billing, and other administrative-related questions.

Angie Landry
Admin Assistant

Angie joined our team in 2017 as a receptionist/administration. After spending almost 17 years of her working career in the medical insurance finance department the opportunity to be at home and raise their three boys she accepted.

Getting back into the work force she started with Physio Fitness in Riverview then we welcomed her to our clinic.

Angie loves spending time with her four grandchildren and five fur babies. She also enjoys music, nature parks, camping and the beach.

Occupational Therapists – The Hand Clinic

Adam Burke
Occupational Therapist – Certified Hand Therapist

Adam graduated from Mount Allison in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science and in 2006 from McMaster with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy. Upon graduation, he was employed for 4 years by the Moncton Hospital in a variety of roles including: family practice, geriatric medicine, surgical and intensive care and out-patient hand therapy working primarily with post-surgical hand conditions. In 2009, Adam entered into private practice as a consultant with CBI Health P.C. providing hand rehabilitation services. In 2010, Adam opened Progressive Occupational Therapy & Hand Rehabilitation, operating in affiliation with Advanced Health & Physiotherapy. In 2011, Adam obtained his certification in hand therapy (CHT) from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission. He specializes in the treatment of upper extremity injuries, ergonomic assessment, post-operative hand stiffness, wrist instabilities & custom splinting.

Marcie Campbell
Occupational Therapist – Certified Hand Therapist

Marcie graduated from Dalhousie University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy. Marcie has worked in a variety of roles in the areas of Neuro/Rehab, Surgical and Intensive care, Orthopedics, Pediatrics. Since 2005, Marcie has specialized in the area of outpatient Hand Therapy working primarily with post-surgical hand conditions at the Moncton Hospital and has achieved the Certification in Hand Therapy designation (CHT) from the National Hand Therapy Certification Commission. In March of 2019 Marcie decided to follow her passion for hand therapy and opened Atlantic Hand & Occupational Therapy clinic in the private setting specializing in the treatment of upper extremity injuries, post-operative care, wrist and hand injuries, custom splinting. Marcie is registered with the Canadian Society of Occupational therapists, the New Brunswick Society of Occupational Therapists and the Canadian Society of Hand Therapists. In January 2024, Marcie and Atlantic Hand & Occupational Therapy joined Progressive Occupational Therapy & Hand Rehabilitation under a new partnership called The Hand Clinic, operating in affiliation with Advanced Health & Physiotherapy.

Andrea Somers
Occupational Therapy Assistant

Born in Halifax NS, and raised in Riverview NB, Andrea is the newest member of the AHOT team. After several years in hospitality and travel, Andrea re-trained to join the medical field and graduated with a Diploma as an Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy Assistant in 2011. She spent 2 years with Extra-Mural working in schools and in the community before moving to the Moncton Hospital’s Occupational Therapy department in 2013. Most recently she returned to Extra Mural, working with community clients as a Rehab assistant.

Andrea brings her administrative expertise to the office environment at AHOT, in addition to her assisting role as part of the therapy team. She loves helping clients have a positive experience both in their interactions with the office and in their therapy and rehab goals.
